a travel diary.
thoughts & observations from a holiday abroad.
Dear friends,
I decided to do a travel blog/diary-style post covering the weeks I’ve been in Europe with P where he’s been temporarily living for work. We’ve both been vague about the details (he’s a pretty private person, and believe it or not, there’s quite a bit I’m private about too), but I share more below about how and why we’re here. I write about the magnificent and mundane, the feels-profound observations any writer is bound to have in a new city, and also the pop culture we consume (yes, this includes my thoughts on Heated Rivalry).
The documenting of my days is an impulse of the memoirist in me, which conveniently reminds me to remind you that the second round of EXCAVATIONS is now open for registration. The first round was so transformative, thanks in large part to the incredible group of writers who gathered to be in community for it. This is a legit reason to sign up for workshops with me: my audience is full of the coolest, most brilliant, witchy, radical weirdos and I run these to cultivate connections as much as I do to enhance writing skills (you’ll get both, and more). I cap the workshop at 12 people which means it’s small and intimate and you get to know your cohort. It’s a powerful container and I trust that if you’re reading this newsletter, you’d be a perfect addition to it. The early bird price is happening through January 1st, and paid subs of the newsletter get an even bigger discount. (Code is at the bottom of this post.) The newsletter cost is increasing in 2026, so there are so many reasons to sign up for the $33/year slot today. Thank you for considering, and either way, thank you for being here. <3
