back to reading/watching/listening.
AI, straight music videos with queer sensibilities, a writing class reading list & more <3
Dear friends,
Okay - people liked the Friday/weekend five, but to be totally honest with you, I miss the Reading/Watching/Listening format! I like linking to other people’s work. So, I’m back to this, with more substantive writing to come. Thanks for indulging the two week experiment, and thank you for your patience as I’m a little less active during this very, very busy month.
I have lots more to share (exciting updates coming soon), but for now, back to the ol’ RWL (+gratitude list). Below you’ll find: AI’s impact on dating culture, some hopeful abolitionist reminders, some highlights from my Writing Across Gender course, and more; also - some love for Pamela Anderson, the most butch/femme heterosexual romantic music video around, and a bunch of stuff I’m feeling really grateful for.
Speaking of gratitude: I would be so grateful if you would consider upgrading your subscription to paid. It’s only $33 for the whole year and it’s a hugely meaningful to working writers to get that support. I feel conflicted about statements like this, but here are some true things: My living expenses went up and my income went down, and as long as I can swing it, I don’t plan on making any changes to the monthly donations I make to a local indigenous group, our local social center, a Palestine mutual aid network, and various GoFundMes and fundraisers I try to support. So, for what it’s worth: your subscription dollars have a ripple effect.
I love you.
love & solidarity,
raechel
