From Colonial Apocalypse to Ecological Revolution with Peter Gelderloos

global struggle against ecocide + a fundraiser request & giveaway!

Dear friends,

Today I’m bringing you a special interview with my partner,

. Peter is en route to Brazil to participate in a gathering against COP30, the UN Climate Change Summit. The COP Summit has consistently proven to push not just ineffective but also deeply harmful “solutions” to the climate crisis. Peter was invited by local organizers to meet with indigenous land defenders, anarchists, squatting movements, and others involved in anticolonial struggle. He will be writing and translating what he learns to share with networks of oppressed people around the world fighting for their lives against capitalism’s ecocidal agenda. (That includes all of us, really.)

Peter has a commitment to doing movement work like this completely for free. He didn’t take any money from the sales of his first ~dozen books, and he won’t be selling the writing that he produces from this trip. However, to get very blunt, given the past years of cancer treatment and very precarious employment, he is also not in a position to pay for the expenses of this endeavor out of pocket. Nor are the folks he’s traveling with. For this fundraiser, any amount made over the cost of travel will go directly to the communities they are meeting in Brazil. Please, please consider donating. If they don’t meet the goal, they won’t get any of the money.

To encourage you even more, Peter and I are putting together a book package giveaway for five people who donate. You’ll get a copy of my book (Rust Belt Femme) and 3-5 of Peter’s books (They Will Beat the Memory Out of Us, The Solutions are Already Here, How Nonviolence Protects the State, and/or others!). We’ll also include a note and some other goodies. :) Just donate to the fundraiser and either leave a comment or respond to this email (or just email me at raechelannejolie (at) gmail) to say that you did. We’ll draw names when the fundraiser meets its goal (there are only 16 days left!).

Enjoy the interview & thanks in advance for your solidarity! <3
