Dear friends,

A short note today. I am still recovering from this cold-from-hell-turned-sinus-infection. I’m much better than I was (and no longer contagious), but wow, this was a tough week on the health front.

Today, probably by the time you read this, I’ll be with my family. We are finally gathering to celebrate the life of my dear Nana who passed in late January. Because a lot of the family is spread out across the country, this was the first time that worked for everyone to be together. I’m looking forward to the ritual and togetherness, in grief and joy and memories.

Below! A detailed report on the MAGA/MAHA summit for conservative women; an excellent profile of my favorite musician; a new transformative justice podcast, and a new feminist podcast, and lots more reading recs; a nepobaby who happens to make really listenable indie songs + a really solid Liz Phair cover; and a list of gratitude from the week (admittedly a bit shorter than usual since my week was primarily on my couch). Last but not least, my full review of The Materialists. Did I love it, did I hate it? Is Dakota Johnson bad at acting or is Celine Song just a genius director? Am I going to do right by my political beliefs or be a romantic love apologist? Guess you gotta read to find out!

love & solidarity,
